Holly Massey Rector (May 1, 1816-- August 12, 1899) was the sixth Governor of the state of Arkansas. Henry Massey Rector was born near Louisville, Kentucky. Both of his moms and dads were of English descent. Rector was trained by his mother and also went to one year of school at Louisville. He moved to Arkansas in 1835. Rector represented UNITED STATE Marshal after settling Arkansas. Rector was elected to the Arkansas Senate and also served therein body from 1848 to 1850.
